Do the glasses come with a hard case?

Yes, all glasses come with a hard case!

How do I get my prescription? 

You can get your prescription one of two ways. Visit your ophthalmologist or optometrist for both an eye exam or to get your prescription. They should provide you with a written copy of your prescription and you can always ask for one if they do not give one to you. Second you can also provide us with the Dr.’s office information and we will call to get your prescription for you. Please also request to have your PD (pupillary distance) measured and written on your prescription. Your PD is very important for us to make sure your eyeglasses fit you perfectly.

What if I don’t know my Pd? 

Pupillary Distance, measures the distance between your pupils and is crucial to center the lenses correctly. You can ask your Dr. for your PD or it can be measured easily. Take a mm stick and place one end where your pupil is and measure from pupil to pupil, it will be easier to have a friend hold the mm stick and measure while you’re looking straight. If you’re still having trouble then please contact us and we can help.

Can I use my Flex Spending Account?

Absolutely! We just ask that you call in your payment rather than purchase online.

 

How do I submit my Prescription:

Enter it at the “Add my Rx” button at the checkout page and fill out the form. Or, it can be scanned and Emailed to us at rx@huxleyewear.com or faxed to us at 651-389-0333. We will send you an email confirmation of your prescription before we get started on your order.

How do I read my prescription:

Right eye (OD) and left eye (OS) is followed by your Sphere (SPH) Cylinder (CYL) and Axis. Please write them out in this fashion: OD -1.00 -.25 X 120 OS -.75 +.20 x 010 Some prescriptions may only have a sphere. That’s ok, please make sure everything is written in.

What if I have a strong Prescription/I have Astigmatism?

We offer HI-Index 1.67 lenses for those who have a stronger prescription. We can fill a range of single vision prescriptions including astigmatism. However, we do have some limitations on certain prescriptions. If your prescription is over (-)8.00 we will email you and give you the best option for lenses. Some frames are smaller and can handle higher prescriptions. You can always email Rx@huxleyeyewear.com.

Huxley Optical at any time may request a copy of your prescription, you as the purchaser will need to send us your hard copy for warranty exchanges and lens errors as we see fit. If you are not able to give us a current copy of your prescription than we cannot be liable for any error.

How Long will my glasses take?

Once your order has been placed and confirmed we will begin to work immediately to make your eyeglasses. You will receive them in approximately 7-10 days. We will keep you updated via email on their status so you know where they are in the process. You will also receive a tracking # in your email to help track their progress once they are shipped out.

What type of lenses do you use?

For your convenience we have standard CR-39 plastic lenses that weight half the amount of glass lenses. Standard Polycarbonate lenses are lighter than plastic and thinner also for those with a little stronger prescription. Hi-Index is the thinnest and lightest of the lenses we offer, for those with a prescription of (-)4.00 or higher we recommend Hi-Index lenses for the thinnest and lightest glasses. All of our lenses come with complimentary Anti-Reflective coatings as well as UVA/UVB protection. If you are not interested in A/R please email us or put in comments.

Prescription Sunglasses

We do offer Prescription sunglasses for an extra $50. You will have the opportunity to add sunglasses to your order. Just choose a frame and in check out click make it Polarized and choose a lens color. The same guidelines apply for prescription lenses from above. Some of our smaller frames can accommodate stronger prescriptions; please call us to discuss your best options for frames.

Can I use Contact lens prescription to order glasses?

Contact lenses and eyeglass prescription lenses are different. Because contacts sit on your eyes while eyeglasses sit in front of your eyes, the prescription may appear similar but they differ in strengths and are not interchangeable. For your safety we cannot and will not use your contact lens prescription to make your glasses.

Delivery Guarantee

We offer free delivery anywhere in the US (Hawaii and Alaska will be charged differently). Please allow 7 to 10 business days for delivery of your glasses. If your glasses reach you in subpar condition it is up to the customer to contact Huxley and tell us what is wrong. We are not responsible for contents after delivery and is the responsibility of the customer to be available for pickup and signature. If package or product is damaged during delivery, we will replace the contents for no extra charge if updated immediately.

 

Warranty

All products sold have a 90 day manufacturer warranty on manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship from date of delivery. We can determine manufacturing defects and require proof of purchase. Huxley Optical will send out a new frame to you at no extra charge to you. If a product is not considered defective under warranty, then Huxley Optical can send you a coupon for % off on your next purchase.

Returns or Exchanges 

Huxley Optical has a 30 day money back guarantee on all frames and lenses from date of receiving your order. The frames and lenses must be in original condition of purchase, if frames or lenses are not in original condition when delivered then we will access a 20% restocking fee on your order. Huxley Optical at any time has the ability to reject your refund if the frames or lenses are not in their original condition or if our policy has been abused. Email us returns@huxleyeyewear.com

Your privacy is very important to us. Accordingly, we have developed this Policy in order for you to understand how we collect, use, communicate and disclose and make use of personal information. This includes but is not limited to: Delivering packages, fulfilling orders, e-mail, payment transactions, etc. They will have access to your personal information needed to perform their necessary functions but may not use it for other purposes. • We will only retain personal information as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes. • We will collect personal information by lawful and fair means and, where appropriate, with the knowledge or consent of the individual concerned. • Personal data should be relevant to the purposes for which it is to be used, and, to the extent necessary for those purposes, should be accurate, complete, and up-to-date. • We will protect personal information by reasonable security safeguards against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification. • We will make readily available to customers information about our policies and practices relating to the management of personal information.
